Can soumeone explain the Randia love triangle

okay so I'm catching up on some story as a break from exploring the gupton catacomb stuff and I just got to the part where Randia starts dating Elonis, but Elonis is already dating Kathlor. at first I thought maybe Randia and Kathlor were the same person (the NPC assets this far back in the story are not as diverse as the new ones I've seen...) but then they just ended up onscreen together at the same time?

I feel like a cheating narrative isn't what they would be going for here, so what's going on??

You know that M. Night Shymalyan movie The Sixth Sense? It is a situation reminiscent of that movie, if you understand my meaning. It's a little confusing because like you said, the models are pretty samey for a lot of story quests in The Garden of Forking Paths expansion. Still have no earthly idea why that is the case to this day.

Yeah it's like the Sixth Sense because six is how many boyfriends Randia has.

That is, if you count the ones that only show up in sidequests. But at this point I'm assuming it's intentional.
